How your order is made

Once you place an order, it is created and saved as a file that is compatible with laser cutting technology.

Your file is loaded onto the laser cutter, and a large sheet of 2mm steel is put onto the cutting bay.

The laser cutter operates at a very high temperature and cuts your order out of the steel.

After cooling your order is sent to be powder coated.

Powder Coating Process

Your order will be treated to remove any dirt or fibres that may show up under the coating.

It is then hung up and a dry powder is applied using an electrostatic process.

Your order is then placed in an industrial oven and cured so it hardens to create the finish you see.

  • Your order is custom made using the many designs we have created, therefore unique to you.

The laser cutting and powder coating process is very specialised, and done in a controlled and safe environment.

We use the same people every week to do this for us so that we can deliver the best service possible.

  • Powder coated 2mm steel can last 20 years plus and is highly durable and weather-resistant.

If you do experience any peeling or blistering after time it is easily touched up using a metal spray or paint - the kind you would use if you had a metal fence that needed a new coat.

  • YES - oxidation occurs over time as raw metal is exposed to air and moisture in the atmosphere. Some customers specifically order our signs in raw steel as they like the natural patina that occurs.

If you do not want your sign to do this, lightly sand it and apply a specialised metal paint or lacquer, readily available in many DIY stores. This allows you to have your sign any colour you want.

  • We can create an order for any dog, cat, or design you want so please get in touch if you can’t find what you are looking for.

  • Yes - we can work with you to create the perfect metal sign for your business. We will need a good quality file from you, or we can redraw your logo for an extra cost. Please visit our DESIGN YOUR SIGN page to fill out the form and we can take it from there.
